Space North East England

Business Durham leads the North East space cluster which evolved from the North East Satellite Applications Centre of Excellence.

The space and satellite market offers substantial and multiple business opportunities and you will find all the support you need to grow and thrive in the North East.

Funded by the UK Space Agency, we’re here to stimulate and support the space community in the region. We’re based at the North East Technology Park (NETPark) in Sedgefield, County Durham, home to some of the world’s fastest-growing companies.

The Centre can offer support as you come up with new ways to solve the world’s problems using space and satellite data and technology. This may be earth observation data, emerging communications technology to enable ubiquitous connectivity.

We’re interested in hearing from you if you’re already in the space sector, or if you have the potential to work in the space and satellite sector but have not yet investigated what market opportunities this might mean.

We can help you in a myriad of ways, from one-to-one support and events to connecting you with potential investors, expertise and collaborators.

“Business support helps you step back and look at the bigger picture. It’s easy to get lost in the day-to-day tasks, but having someone from outside the business to discuss ideas with, to push us forward, has been crucial.”

Fiona Ewing

Finance Durham

The benefit of speaking to Maven about the Finance Durham fund is the flexibility of the fund on offer, which means we can invest from a small amount up to several millions via equity or debt.

Michael Vassallo

Power Roll

Maven helped us in terms of facilities by introductions into Business Durham, and also the funding opportunities here in County Durham, which really did help pull a package of measures together, which made the premises we're in today, Jade Business Park, that compelling proposition.
