Plans to build a new headquarters for County Durham Fire and Rescue Service have been submitted to the council.
Proposals suggest constructing the new facility at the current Durham Community Fire Station site in Sniperley Farm Road which will also house the North East Ambulance Service, forming a "Blue Light Hub."
Currently functioning as a fire station with training facilities, the site will see updates to parking and road access, including the creation of a new access road from the A691.
