Following the publication of the DfE's Skills for Jobs: Implementing a New Further Education Funding and Accountability System in July 2023, the ESFA-funded Adult Skills Fund (ASF) has been introduced as a replacement for the ESFA-funded Adult Education Budget (AEB).
Much like the AEB, the purpose of the new fund is to support adult learners in non-devolved areas to gain skills to improve their job prospects or progress onto further education and learning.
However, within ASF, additional opportunities for personalised learning are also available to support wider outcomes like improving health and wellbeing alongside parent and carer support and opportunities to develop stronger communities.
