New College Durham has announced that work has begun on installing a brand-new, all-weather, multi-use games area on campus.
The college is working in partnership with Cleveland Land Services as its main contractor, Dome Project Management, Ryder Architecture and DPP Planning to provide cutting-edge facilities.
The whole project costing in the region of £4.5m, will be a two-stage development, providing huge benefits for both students and the local community. The first stage (due to be completed by December 24th) requires part of the existing car park to be relocated to the edge of the site in preparation for the installation of the new pitch and surrounding amenities. There will still be over 300 parking bays, of which 20 will be dedicated to electric vehicle charging.
