Brands including The Range, Puregym, Popeyes, Greggs, Tui, Superbowl UK, and Reel Cinemas will open at the new destination
A host of national operators are poised to open at the North East’s latest retail and leisure park later this year.
The Bishop Auckland Retail & Leisure Park is being developed by Fieldon Bridge Developments, ahead of a planned grand opening in the summer – two years later than originally planned, after the pandemic triggered a number of challenges and delays. The £40m-plus scheme is bringing restaurants, retailers and a new cinema to the town, with brands including The Range, Puregym, Popeyes, Greggs, Tui, Superbowl UK, and Reel Cinemas, with the new openings set to create around 450 jobs once it is fully up and running.
The 160,000sqft site will support surrounding existing businesses, including Sainsbury’s, Tesco, M&S Foodhall, Pets at Home, Boots, Next, TK Maxx, McDonalds, KFC and other national brands. Newcomers include The Range, which is unveiling a new 40,000 sqft superstore, while Home Bargains has committed to a 40,000 sqft relocation, trebling the size of its current store in the town one on the back of excellent trading in the area.
