Business Durham hosted a successful Drum Business Park Network meeting on Thursday, 11 July, at Co-Op Primary Logistics Services, located within the vibrant Drum Business Park in Chester-le-Street. The event brought together a diverse group of business leaders and representatives from the community for a morning of networking, knowledge-sharing, and collaborative problem-solving.
The morning kicked off with breakfast at 8:30am, providing an excellent opportunity for attendees to network and forge valuable connections. The informal atmosphere allowed participants to exchange ideas and best practices, setting a positive tone for the rest of the meeting.
Following the networking session, attendees received important news updates pertinent to the Drum Business Park. A key update was about the new Bidfood site development, which gained planning permission on 22nd April for a 4.39-hectare site. Once completed, the development is expected to create approximately 182 full-time equivalent (FTE) jobs, marking a significant boost for the local economy.
The highlight of the event was a compelling presentation by Ian Proctor from Digital Edge. Renowned for his engaging style and expertise, Ian delivered an insightful talk on 'Being Social on Social Media.' He shared practical tips and strategies to enhance social media engagement, emphasising the importance of authenticity and consistent interaction with audiences. Ian's presentation was well-received, sparking a lively discussion among attendees on how to effectively leverage social media for business growth.
“Networking events like the Drum Business Park Network are instrumental in expanding one’s network, gaining market insights, and fostering both personal and professional development,” said Stuart Armstrong, Business Engagement Officer at Business Durham. “We are thrilled with the turnout and the positive feedback from attendees, and we look forward to hosting the next event on the 12th September.”
Business Durham extends its gratitude to Ian Hindle, Distribution General Manager at the Co-op, for hosting the event. His support and the use of Co-Op Primary Logistics Services provided an excellent venue for the meeting.
The meeting concluded at 10:30am, leaving participants inspired and equipped with new strategies to implement in their businesses. The collective enthusiasm was palpable, reflecting the success of the event in fostering a collaborative and proactive business community within the Drum Business Park.
Business Durham also thanks Ian Proctor for his valuable contribution and to all attendees for making the event a resounding success. We look forward to our next gathering and continuing to build a strong, united business community at Drum Business Park.
