North East Rural Awards launched to recognise the best of the region's countryside

Awards that recognise the best of the rural North East are returning to the region for the third time.

The North East Rural Awards - which are being launched by The Journal and our sister paper, The Chronicle - will take place at Kirkley Hall in Northumberland in July, with a range of categories highlighting the best of the region’s rural people and businesses.

Winners at last year’s event included Battlesteads Hotel, Doddington Dairy, Doxford Barns and Coquetdale Holiday Park.

Entries for the awards are now open, with anyone in the region able to nominate people or businesses in 10 categories.
