Projects in the mining and renewable energy sectors helped a County Durham-based construction company to another successful year, according to recently filed financial results, with turnover increasing by a fifth and profit up by more than half.
Hall Construction Services, which is headquartered in Rushyford, specialises in civil projects, buildings, earthworks, quarrying and haulage. It employs more than 130 staff working on projects across the UK.
Turnover at the company rose to £30.1m for the year ending 31 January 2018, an increase of 21 per cent.
Pre-tax profit was also up for the period, climbing 60 per cent to £3.2m.
The company is the principal contractor on the Moor House Wind Farm in Darlington, which is nearing completion, while it continued earthworks on the UK’s only open cast gypsum mine in Nottinghamshire.
