Cox Agri are based on Greencroft Industrial Park, County Durham and are world leaders in the supply of a comprehensive range of quality stockbreeder products across the UK and worldwide.
The company was established in 1850 and was family owned until the company was sold to Allflex UK Group Ltd in 2014. Ian Spoor, Global procurement manager at Allflex UK Group Ltd approached Business Durham in 2015 when the company was looking to increase their office size by adding a mezzanine floor. This was to prepare for additional staff to work in the new export department and to make room for another part of the business which was relocating to the main office.
Business Durham supported the company through the first planning application and connected them with a planning officer to discuss the modifications. The planning application was successful and the offices were created in 2015.
The second phase of their expansion was to build an additional 16,000 square foot of industrial space on land next to their current warehouse. Allflex UK Group Ltd again asked for Business Durham to support them through this more detailed planning application, which has now been submitted for approval. The company hopes to finish construction of their new floor space before the end of 2016, creating in total between 45-50 jobs.
Ian Spoor, global procurement manager said of Business Durham “They have been a vital link between our business and the local planning offices they have been with us every step of the way providing continuous support through the planning and submission process”
