Born from an exciting and innovative collaboration between Invertec, CPI, (Centre for Process Innovation) and Business Durham comes a new cutting edge lighting product specifically developed to comply with the high standards of the transport industry both in the UK and worldwide markets.
Invertec based in County Durham is renowned globally as a leading design and manufacturing facility of lighting and interior systems, exporting to 20 countries worldwide. They have created a niche by catering their product and expertise towards the public transport and commercial vehicle industries.
The new product which is an illuminated centre ceiling panel emits a bath of homogenous light through the vehicle and spans the entire width of the centre ceiling. Said product was displayed on both Scania and Invertec’s stands at Busworld in Kortrik on October 18th 2017.
Ian King Sales Director at Invertec explained: “We are constantly looking for innovative and new ways to improve and develop our products to ensure we remain at the pinnacle of our respective field. Caroline Taukulis from Business Durham introduced us to CPI who immediately suggested quick and effective improvements, which are now being tested for certification for export to Europe.”

Invertec export to over 13 European countries and 7 worldwide, with over 30 % of their turnover generated through export. This collaboration enabled Invertec to differentiate their lighting products within the market and adapt them to international market needs.
