A FAMILY-RUN steel fabrication company is aiming to “secure a lot more work” after picking up a contract to support a £36m entertainment hub.
Finley Structures has a deal to fabricate and erect a 960-tonne frame for Hull Venue.
Bosses say the 3,500-seat building will host music gigs, comedy acts and touring performers, as well as sporting events, conferences and exhibitions.
Finley, based in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, is already on site, with the Humberside work, which includes the installation of concrete stairs, lift shafts and terrace units, complementing further agreements in the North-East.
They include a 614-tonne project for Carillion Construction, in Sunderland, and support for a Durham City leisure development, while further afield the business is working on a 283-tonne scheme to build a Hilton Hotel in Lincoln.
Jim Graham, Finley Structures’ operations manager, said the business was moving forward at pace, with further contracts in the pipeline.
He said: “Hull is another phoenix from the flames type of project.
