A WORLD leader in wireless communications systems secured 85 jobs for the region when it set up its centre of excellence at the North East Technology Park (NETPark).
Filtronic Broadband Ltd, set up the centre after getting help from Business Durham to transfer from its previous site at Newton Aycliffe. The state-of-the-art test facilities included a laboratory, clean room, office space and new production suite.
The company is a world leader in the design and manufacture of wireless communications systems and its customers include a wide range of mobile phone network operators.
Simon Goon, managing director of Business Durham, said: “We were delighted to play a part in expanding the burgeoning technology and innovation cluster at NETPark. The move rubber stamped the growing reputation of NETPark as a place with first class facilities.”
