8 years ago, social entrepreneur Bethany Ainsley started Nouveau Wellbeing in a bid to tackle health and social inequalities in East Durham.
Today, Nouveau spans across the North East and Yorkshire providing over 100 classes a week, catering to all ages and abilities. Under Bethany’s leadership, the business has gone from strength to strength, recently expanding into Yorkshire. Awards such as the Young Business Person of the year in 2015, Ernst & Young Future 50 and the David Goldman prize for Innovation are a few of Bethany’s accolades, recognizing her contribution to Social Enterprise, Business and Innovation.
Bethany splits her time between running the business, speaking at public events and providing support for social enterprise and future leaders.
We caught up with Bethany at the inaugural Durham Festival of Enterprise in February 2017 at Durham’s Gala Theatre. Bethany shared her story with over 400 would be entrepreneurs at the event which we organised in collaboration with Durham University and BE Group.
