The companies in the running to be named the Best Places to Work in the North East can be revealed.
The Journal has launched the search for the region’s top workplaces as part of its Invest in the North East campaign, which aims to make the area a better place in which to live and work.
Dozens of firms from around the North East have put themselves forward for the initiative, with the region’s 50 Best Places to Work set to be unveiled at the Biscuit Factory in Newcastle on June 27.
Prizes will be awarded for the region’s best large, medium, small and not-for-profit companies, as well as awards for the best office, best workplace perk, top community involvement project and best boss.
Judges have ranked entrants on a range of criteria, including perks and benefits offered to staff, policies to provide a good work-life balance and the role a company plays in its local community.
Other factors considered included policies for staff development, ways in which companies ensure staff engagement and how they look after employees’ physical and mental health.
