D&S Services Peterlee

D&S Services has been in Peterlee since July 2015 and has been trading for nearly 12 years. Before arriving inPeterlee the company moved from Shildon to Spennymoor to Newton Aycliffe.D&S Servicespredominantly specialises in material handling stillages, structural and secondary steelwork and general fabrication for the automotive, yellow goods and construction industries.

When the company was making its decision about where it wanted to move to the criteria included: location in an up-and-coming area with other growing companies; close to large, well-established businesses; close to Nissan and close to our key customers, and a space in which it could continue to grow. Peterlee and its new unit have provided all of these.

The area has not disappointed: in the short time D&S has been here, the company has been made to feel very welcome by its closest neighbours, and it has already seen the benefits of closer proximity to our key customers. The company continues to look at other businesses in the area and what can be sourced locally aroundPeterlee Business Park. Being part of the Peterlee Business Park group has helped the company develop these links and build great relationships with our neighbours, not just trading relationships but those where they can help each other on wider business issues.

Through the group the company has sourced HR support, Health and Safety support, work experience staff, help in reducing utility bills and has been introduced to a number of the larger businesses on the park to which we may be able to provide our goods and services. The company would urge more companies to come along to the monthly meetings, there is nothing to lose and everything to gain.
