Bioforce North East

Bioforce North East, a wood fuel business in the east of County Durham with ambitious plans is now well on their way to growing their business with innovative products that are even kinder to the environment.

The business has grown from a small woodland management company and with the foresight of its directors, they are taking steps to producing fuel products that are more efficient.

By working with Business Durham, they have overcome some of the hurdles relating to environmental and business planning, and product development.

Billy Myers, one of the directors, said: “We were frustrated on a number of fronts last year but Business Durham helped us to unpick and tackle the issues one by one. Few months later, our planning issue has been resolved and that means we can get on with implementing our growth plan.

NETPark Net, the innovation network run by Business Durham, also helped to identify the right experts to get our business plan right for fundraising and advised on our next steps for developing our product.”

Phil Murray, Commercial Director at Harlands Accountants, said: “We usually meet very interesting businesses through our affinity partnership with NETPark Net, as they are innovative businesses by default.

I am delighted to have had the chance to work with Bioforce North East with their business planning, not least with all the savings they can make with R&D tax credit.”
